This flick is flawed but not without some merit.

It seemed both profound and at times hard to comprehend when I saw it in the theaters at age 14 or 15. I believed there were was a depth of meaning in the film that were accessible only to people more sensitive and literary than the teenage me. I think the fascism bits were especially unsettling and confusing.

A few short years later, when I saw it as a campus movie at the U of O, it seemed bombastic and heavy handed. But perhaps that was mostly because I was by then totally over Pink Floyd's music, having become a fairly devoted college radio top 40 snob.

I almost want to watch it again now. And maybe I will. Maybe.
mhwitthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/01692644684366966097noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10779294.post-6436735567798121632015-08-07T21:36:31.282-07:002015-08-07T21:36:31.282-07:00For the most part, I do not enjoy the music of Pin...For the most part, I do not enjoy the music of Pink Floyd, so I'll give it a miss.UnwiseOwlhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09466448988499591715noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-10779294.post-90228315405183594272015-08-07T19:17:39.655-07:002015-08-07T19:17:39.655-07:00@Jenners: The Memories! Even though I also saw it in college -- as so many have -- I misremembered it as more amusingly psychedelic, as far more playfully trippy than it actually is. Was trying to impress a boy who was a huge Pink Floyd fan, struggled to stay awake ...but that could have been due to the late hour of the show. Definitely needs some humor!!! This is the with Bob Geldof, right?Jennershttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08044537551139633301noreply@blogger.com
