Certainly he's the most annoying. It's hard to see his work as if for the first time: I look at a melting watch, and also see him with his ridiculous moustache making bug eyes at the camera. Dali, get over yourself! That top painting is worth a thousand melting watches and any number of phallic elephants. But I don't think he gets it. <br /><br />David, on the other hand, is remote in time, unassuming, and the more I see of his work the more I like it. You want surrealism? Take a look at the little farmer couple pushing the great big strawberry plant. Is that not the most charming thing you've ever seen on the facing page of Mary and the baby Jesus?
