Oudry will have to wait at least a year before he charges into the fray.

And that, amazingly, concludes the Play-In Tournament as originally conceived! This being the Infinite Art Tournament, it's not QUITE that simple, and we have some tiebreaker and other asterisks to resolve. I'll take Oudry's craftsmanship over Roerich's vision, I suppose.

One of the biggest puzzlements in the tournament so far has been the success of Amador, who to my eye is a guy with a rake, a camera, and a neat hobby. Too many good artists, too few votes.

I must go with Oudry even without seeing the others because (a) French; (b) still life; (c) still life with really weird but compelling composition/elements. I mean, who stores their peaches next to their dead hares? Although he ALMOST got downgraded for the - is that a rhinoceros? Still. Still life.

Roerich is fun, but not compelling.

Giving lawn-sprinkler Jesus a pass.

Amador - oooh, ephemeral art! Outdoor installations! Big points there. Let's see what else is in the lineup ...

I am undecided as to whether or not I like Steinburg.

Lovely photos from Johnstone but ...

I'm going for Dodd as my second pick. That reason, for the unaware, is "he makes really good paintings."

For the other artist, I had trouble deciding between Roerich, Sint Jans, and Steinburg.
