Here's the other half of the tiebreaker that we launched the day before yesterday. Long-timers will now have seen George Bellows more than almost anyone else in the Tournament, but they sure haven't seen him recently.

Infinite Art Tournament, Left Bracket Round Three TIEBREAKER: Avercamp v. Jordaens!
Hendrick Avercamp was in on the ground floor of the Infinite Art Tournament -- his name, after all, starts with an "A" -- but he's been locked in ties three times, the most recent one in a match that started in November 2014.
Jacob Jordaens, meanwhile, has been running nose-to-nose with Ingres in a separate Left Bracket Third-Rounder since mid-2015. This week, we're going to break up the logjam. Here's Avercamp and Jordaens, vying for the chance to take on the winner of the Anguissola/Agasse match that has been underway since November 2013. On Thursday, we'll see how George Bellows does against Ingres; the winner of that one will take on the winner of the Reni/Bouguereau match that started about five weeks ago. Yes, that seems odd to me too. The brackets are full of wonders and marvels.

The Infinite Art Tournament, First Elimination Round TIEBREAK
Ties in First Round Elimination are pretty darn rare. It's been a year and a half since the last one. But, Yves Tanguy and Gerhard Ter Borch ended up deadlocked last weekend, and we're ready to do some tiebreaking.
Kenneth Noland and Tanguy will fight for the "upper" spot; the winner will take on Barnett Newman on the sixth page of the brackets. Emil Nolde will contend with Ter Borch to stay alive in the bottom spot, with the winner of that one slated against Hendrick Terbrugghen on page eight.
