I was looking at the first Hicks and immediately thought "Hey! He copied that lion face from that other guy who did the lion-lies-down-with-the-lamb montage and ... [scroll scroll scroll] ... oh."

But there was no contest in any event, at least for me: Hiroshige-san, mochiron-desu.

I missed the horrifying lion face! Which makes me really want to vote for Hicks, but not enough to counteract the actual-goodness of Hiroshige.

Hiroshige. And I'll work on catching up on my art voting.

I quite like Edward Hicks, actually. But the match belongs to his fabulous contemporary Hiroshige.

Hicks! And not just because the second picture hung on the wall when I was a little kid. Not just.

Hiroshige for the win. I feel like these particular works leave a little to be desired, though.

And Hiroshige takes it in a great wave -- no wait, that's the other guy -- with a decisive 11-3 victory. Thanks for voting!
