I like Morisot alright but I think I'll vote Moroni.

Moroni does some nice frowny portraits, but am I the only who thinks their is something funny about the guy's head? Like that it's maybe a bit off center? It seems like this isn't something I should be thinking about when I'm looking at a portrait. I'll go with Morisot.

Morisot.

BTW, you're a tournament bracket seed etc nerd, right Michael5000? I just learned about "repechage" in fencing tournaments—a double elimination kinda thing. Given the weird "seeding" of this art tournament mayhaps "repechaging" after getting down to 32 or so could be interesting and make things even more infinite. Sometimes it is unfair how the alphabet works, ya know? Just an idea.

Morisot for Susan

If the Wiki descriptions are correct, pfly, I believe I have reinvented "Double-elimination repechage."

It's true that the alphabet is unfair -- I was astounded by a particular talent cluster in the C's, for instance -- but the alphabet was also inherent within the Tournament's inspiration. I've said before that this is all just the seeding Tournament for the greater Tournament Which Is To Come After, which is probably not true but is fun to say, especially around Mrs.5000. Meanwhile, if Chuckdaddy had HIS way, we'd also be chasing the brackets in the other conceptual direction, to determine the worst artist of all.

Strangely enough, I'm still enjoying the whole thing. Even in summer!

Oh, by the way, I vote Morisot.

Michael5000, oh? Well, cool. I'm baffled by most of this stuff. But fencing nationals just happened (I was there!), and in Div 1 there was repechage. I finally understood it, kinda, from this thread (esp the post by IanSerotkin): http://www.fencing.net/forums/thread33809.html

I want to like Morisot, but I don't, and it looks like Moroni knows what he's doing, so I'll cast my vote for the Renaissance textiles and luxury goods advertisements.

Zowie, bit of a rollercoaster ride of an art match-up there, but Morisot ends up on top of the pile, with six votes against Moroni's four.
