The Ladder of Art -- Week #36

Cast your votes for up to four of these seven artists by Friday August 9.  For clarifications, consult the Ladder of Art FAQ.

Chase and Daubigny are both on bye-week for the 36th running, which leaves the three new guys a relatively survivable art ecosystem.  Maybe one of them will survive!  Or maybe they all will!

Last Week's Results

1. Daubigny: 7
3. Kalf:5
3. van Honthorst: 5
3. Marin: 5

Piero della Francesca now and for as long as he lasts on his ladder climb (or possible fall). And then I'll also take Verrocchio of the new guys. Of the old guard I'll take Canaletto and Kalf.

Susan casts her lot in with Piero della Francesca, Verrochio, Canaletto & one non-Italian, Willem "Lemon Peel" Kalf.

I'll take Verrochio, and -- to my surprise -- Marin. I didn't really think much of Marin, and was kind of dumbfounded when people voted for him last week. That sent me looking, and I liked what I saw.

It's tempting, this week and every week, to toss in a negative vote against Canaletto as a way of saying 'wow man he is like so overrated." But I don't really have a grain of dislike for Canaletto in my body, so I will continue to resist the temptation for many weeks to come.

Hey, I like the new guys! Piero Della Francesca for sure, and Verrocchio. And Tapies. And then Canaletto.
