Exploring the Evergreen State, Part II
If I have time I'll come by to see you. Don't be too disappointed if I don't.
On the second week of our tour of the state of Washington, we will travel south from Seattle to Tacoma, its neighbor to the south -- with an eye towards the original Tacoma, Mount Rainier, which will be our next destination.
SEATTLE AND MOUNT RAINIER. As seen from Queen Anne Hill Bluff the mountain appears to stand guard over the downtown business district.

Dear Folks, We attended church at Steel Lake or Federal Way at 8:30 service. Then later we drove thru Seattle - such a large place. We are now at Mukilteo on Puget Sd. eating Halibut in a restaurant called "The Seahorse." Hope it is good. They are a long time serving us.

COVERED BRIDGE AT SUMNER, WASHINGTON
World Guide #47-27-02 - Pierce Co.
This 150 foot, single span old Howe Covered Bridge crosses the Stuck river one-half mile North West of the Sumner business district. Built by the Milwaukee Railroad as a spur into the Fleischman plant in 1937 they plan on replacing it in the Spring of 1971.
GATEWAY TO RAINIER NATIONAL PARK
Located on Puget Sound, this industrial and world shipping port is in the heart of an Evergreen vacationland. A thousand miles of inland forest-bordered salt waterways, rugged mountains, lakes and streams in Tacoma vicinity, make this an out-of-doors paradise.

Dear Win & George,
Here we are, doing much like we did last year. We're at the ocean, as far down as Astoria. Saw Vern & Thelma in Seattle Mon. Leaving for Oregon on Sun. It's all been fun. So sorry about the ball park fire.
Love, Anne & Lars
