Cranach the Elder. I really do like that mischievous nymphette.

Del Cossa. I, for some reason, hate the mischievous nymphette. But I like the harnessed swans.

I think I like Cranach more here. Del Cossa is a bit cartoony for my tastes.

This is one of those contests where I flip back and forth who I think I'll vote for, depending who I've googled most recently. I do have a fondness for Del Cossa's sunny proto-Rose Bowl inventiveness, so I'll settle on him.

Lucas "the Elder" Cranach

Hmmm... Del Cossa? But I reserve the right to change my mind at the last second

I've got no love for the mischievous nymphette, but I really like Mr. the Elder's other two. Whereas, all of the pieces we see from Del Cossa seem to be trippy details from a handful of big trippy jumbly large-scale pieces, which shouldn't be a problem, but bugs me for some reason. Probably as an image assembler I privilege the free-standing image.

Anyway, Cranach the Elder on his own merits.

An emailed vote for Cranach the Elder.

Del Cossa! I would like Cranach the Elder more if those poofy elbow sleeves in the third picture were her arms circling around again

Oh, no! I can't believe that two of my favorite paintings are going up against each other!

Hmm. Okay, I can believe it, and it has certainly happened before, but I'm not happy to vote down either of these.

Overall, I like Cranach the Elder, but I don't know if I can vote against the Swan Boat of Love with Bunnies. On the other hand, the hunt scene is amazing, somehow. (I want to go on record as thinking that spear hunting in a little boat might be a bad idea.)

Oh, all right. Del Cossa!

It turns out that back in August, as Candida was agonizing over which of her favorites not to vote for, she was in fact casting the breaking vote on what had been a 5-5 tie. HER VOTE COUNTS! And in this case, it counts to keep del Cossa alive in the Tournament. Cranach the Elder will be missed.
