The New Monday Quiz II

Rise and shine, brainy and gorgeous readers!  It's Monday!

1. This stamp depicts a very important historical guy laying some hurt on the Hittites in about 1274 B.C.  What's his name?

2. What cynical character celebrates the peace by proclaiming:
Now is the winter of our discontent
Made glorious summer by this sun of York;
And all the clouds that lour'd upon our house
In the deep bosom of the ocean buried.
Now are our brows bound with victorious wreaths;
Our bruised arms hung up for monuments;
Our stern alarums changed to merry meetings,
Our dreadful marches to delightful measures.

3. What character's shapely leg occupies the foreground of this film still?

4. Commanding the rearguard of an army crossing the Pyrenees, a French knight is set upon by a superior force of Saracens.  He proudly refuses to blow his "olifant" horn to summon help, but when it is clear that he and his men are doomed, he blows it so eagerly to summon revenge that his head bursts.  That's the gist of the oldest major work in French literature, the Song of ____________.
5. Speaking of things French, this famous painting is representative of a major impressionist painter notable for focusing almost entirely on human subjects, as opposed to landscapes.  What's his name?

6. It has both "You Won't See Me" and "I'm Looking Through You." It has both "Run for Your Life" and "Drive My Car," but it also has "Wait." What's the punning title of this album, which is #5 on Rolling Stone's 500 greatest of all time?

7. Why, it's a map showing the pattern of mean yearly temperatures in _______________!

8. It's the longest of Paul's letters, the first one in the standard sequence, and it's generally considered to be the most important and influential.  We know it as the Book of _________.

9. Here's the opening of a long and influential book!  But in what language?

10a. [UnitedStatesians only] Since 2005, he has been the chief justice of the United States Supreme Court.

10b. [non-UnitedStatsians only] Element 104 is named after "the father of nuclear physics," the New Zealand-born scientist who, among other amazing tricks, figured out the concept of radioactive half-life, distinguished between alpha and beta radiation, and invented the proton.  Who was this astonishingly brainy guy?

I was all like, "I don't know any of these and I don't have time to do the quiz, I'm just looking, thanks," and then you had to go and throw in a language. That's Romanian. The rest I don't know.

Oh, I guess and Paul's letter to the Romans, and do I get extra points for knowing that it's the beginning of Genesis you've got there in Romanian? And Chief Justice John Roberts.
