The Infinite Art Tournament, Round FOUR: Prud'hon v. Raphael!

Time for a Fourth Round match to kick off the month!  This one pits Prud'hon, who brings in a cumulative 25-8 voting record, against Raphael, who has a 25-8 voting record of his own.  Does that mean they are likely to tie?  Maybe!

Pierre-Paul Prud'hon
1758 - 1823
French
  • Drubbed Francesco Primaticcio in Round 1.
  • Beat Sir Henry Raeburn in Round 2.
  • Defeated Nicolas Poussin in Round 3 by a two-vote swing. YOUR VOTE COUNTS!

Raphael
1483 - 1520
Italian

Vote for the artist of your choice in the comments, or any other way that works for you. Commentary and links to additional work are welcome. Fourth-round matches are open for at least three months after posting.

Prud'hon, although the second and fourth Raphaels are incredibly solid

I dunno. It goes against the grain to vote against Raphael, but I'm feeling the love for Prud'hon today.

So I've never been much of a Raphael fan especially, and I haven't looked at this post for a while, and scrolling upwards from the bottom I was all like "WHO IS THIS GUY?!? THESE PAINTINGS ARE AMAZING!!!" And then I got to the Prud'hon, and it was like, "oh yeah, I kind of like Prud'hon!"

To sum up: RAFAEL ALL THE WAY!!

...and it was Raphael all the way, with seven votes to Prud'hon's four. Raphael will be taking on Patenier next, while Prud'hon will need to re-establish momentum against Pierro del Cosimo or Picasso. Tough gigs, but when you play at this level it's no ordinary menu.
