Left Bracket Fifth Round: Picasso v. O'Keeffe!

This Left Bracket Fifth Round match pairs Pablo Picasso (6-1, 59-23, .720) against Georgia O'Keeffe (4-1, 44-18, .710).  Picasso won his way into the round via a sound thrashing of Camille Pissaro, whereas O'Keefe is on the rebound from a loss against Claude Monet.

Pablo Picasso
1881 - 1973
Pablo Picasso [was] one of the greatest and most-influential artists of the 20th century and the creator (with Georges Braque) of Cubism. The enormous body of Picasso’s work remains, and the legend lives on—a tribute to the vitality of the “disquieting” Spaniard with the “sombre…piercing” eyes who superstitiously believed that work would keep him alive. For nearly 80 of his 91 years, Picasso devoted himself to an artistic production that contributed significantly to and paralleled the whole development of modern art in the 20th century.

Georgia O'Keeffe
1887 - 1986
O’Keeffe has remained one of the most important and admired Modernist painters in the United States and one of its most celebrated icons. Through her consistently provocative and distinctively personal approach to image making, she created a body of work that conveys the integrity of her Modernist vision, her independent spirit, and, above all, her profound sensitivity to the vitality of natural forces.... In largely overcoming many critics’ gendered interpretations of her work, O’Keeffe also played a key role in disabusing the art community and the general public of the notion that gender was in any way a determinant of artistic competence or creativity. Thus, she helped to establish a new and significant space for female artists in a realm that has continued to be dominated by men.

O'Keeffe, although I am impressed by the variety of Picasso's work.

I'm sort of surprised that Picasso's are a bit of a mixed bag; I thought I'd like him more. But he does have some fantastic pictures, and I'm not really a fan of O'Keefe, so Picasso it is.

O'Keeffe was kind of an asshole, but Picasso was a huge asshole, so O'Keeffe.

If Picasso doesn't win, this entire tournament is a corrupt fake news rigged joke!

Oh, Picasso. O'Keeffe is all right and all, but doesn't make me get up and dance. So to speak.

O'Keefe's art has been life-changing for me in a way that I imagine Picasso's might have been for some people who are different from me. I vote for her.

OK, voting is now closed and the final score is Picasso 59, O'Keeffe 5. Wait, what the hell...?

Actual final score: Picasso 10, O'Keeffe 5! O'Keeffe piled up some laurels to rest on, though; whereas Picasso moves on to... well, one of the most interesting matches in the Tournament, for my money. Let's do it!
