I noticed you included a lot of those "it's barely a page and is impossible to fan through to find!" books... :-P

Yeah, I hesitated on a few of them, and I'm pretty sure I guessed wrong. I'm so going to hell now. =(

crap! i knew I should've been paying closer attention to your other blog.

1. Abraham: no? I know he's in the bible, but does he have a whole book?
2. Baal: no?
3. Ephesians: yes?
4. Etruscans: yes?
5. Galatians: no?
6. Habakkuk: no?
7. Haggai: no?
8. Jehoshaphat: no?
9. Lamentations: yes?
10. Methuselah: no?
11. Micah: no?
12. Titus: yes?

in case you're wondering, I can count on one hand the number of times i've picked up a bible in my life. And the only book I am certain exists is Leviticus, because it's often referred to in the crossword puzzle.

I'm saying yes to 1,3,6,9,and 11, I don't think so to 5 and hooey to all the others.

The mere act of writing the numbers 1 through 12 down the lefthand side of a piece of scratch paper still gives me the pop quiz heebie jeebies.

Of course there's no book of Abraham! I totally choked!

Abraham is a very important guy in the Bible, but not the name of a book. Baal was a god worshiped in the Middle East, more or less a direct competitor for adherents with the God of Abraham. Etruscans were a rival tribe to the early Romans. Jehoshaphat and Methuselah are rather less important Biblical figures than Abraham, and also don't have books named after them.

Ephesians, Galatians, Habakkuk, Haggai, Lamentations, Micah, and Titus are all books of the Bible.

Gold Star to Jessica for NAILING it. Nice.

Silver to Rex, with a respectable 10/12.

Blue to defending champ Rebel, at 9/12.

@rebel: Sorry about your pin, and the hell. Imagine how Habakkuk, Haggai, and Titus feel.

@jessica: Yeah, well, the original draft, which was like so:

1. Genesis
2. Exodus
3. Psalms
4. Matthew
5. Mark
6. Luke
7. John
8. Revelations
9. Cabbage
10. Jackie O.
11. Women in Love
12. Seinfeld

...was rejected as not being challenging enough.

@ChuckDaddy: We'll run this one again once MRTB wraps up.

@mydog: If you've picked up a Bible less than six times, I'd say you did pretty well considering. I'm just amazed everyone got Lamentations and Ephesians. I wouldn't have.

@Mrs. 5000: Of course there's no book of Abraham! You totally choked! Must have been those pop-quiz heebie-jeebies.

Based only on what sounded somewhat familiar based on years of Catholic masses and education (long since left by the wayside), I'm guessing:

Abraham - Isn't
Baal - Isn't
Ephesians - Is
Etruscans - Isn't
Galatians - Is
Habakkuk - Isn't (On the fence about this one-- might be -- I know there are a lot of weirdo little books in there in the Old Testament)
Haggai - Isn't
Jehoshaphat - Isn't
Lamentations - Is
Methuselah - Isn't
Micah - Is
Titus - Isn't
