Neither? Ok, Ryman.

I'm not opposed to minimalism, but I saw a lot of Ryman paintings at DIA Beacon, and my overwhelming impression was something like, gee, it is going to take precious minutes to walk past these on my way to the Sol LeWitt. Go, Salviati!

Uh, Salviati?

I got artist number two because it looks like artist number one didn't finish either of his assignments. He had artist's block.

I like color field paintings alright, but no-color field doesn't quite do it for me. Salviati.

Ryman. Babies do not have ripped abdominal muscles.

Even with giving Ryman the benefit of the doubt that his paintings would be better larger and in person, I'll go with Salviati and his 6-packed babies.

Susan says "Salviati. I'm voting for something rather than nothing.

Salviati. Having seen Ryman's paintings larger and in person, I kind of give him the benefit of the doubt that yes, yes, interesting point, whatever; but, if he hadn't done it, somebody else would have. Ryman is a historical invitability, and what's to admire in that?

And with the votes counted, it's eight votes for babies who have been doing their sit-ups, three votes for nothing. Salviati moves on to the Second Round!
