Answers go in the comments!  Bonus point for an interesting observation about how the number 27 is significant in your own life!

Two weeks ago, The New Monday Quiz wished happy birthday to a bunch of folks who were all more famous than you are, unless you're fairly famous. The answers were:
1. The artist was Georges de la Tour
2. When the Pope said that  “the poor were his nephews," he meant that he wanted the Church to help the poor, and eliminate nepotism?
3. Abigail's hubby was Millard Fillmore.
4. Grand Viziers were the heads of the Ottoman Empire, although often not for long.
5. Percival Lowell predicted Pluto, albeit ineptly.
6. Al Jaffee wrote for Mad Magazine
7. That's a map of Honduras
8. That's a still from Fargo
9. High school band made good: U2
10. Mr. Lázaro plays for Milan
Non-UnitedStatsean UnWise Owl got a gimme on #3, since Millard Fillmore is like the... I dunno... George Reid of American politics, maybe.  Anyhoo, Mrs. still came up with the win after her ammendment gave her a perfect slate of answers.  She may choose between massive shaggy white forepaws or being like Millard Fillmore... whatever that might entail.

Oh, I forgot -- 27 is significant for me because the year I turned 27 was the year that I joined both Bus Riders Unite and the Community Alliance of Tenants. That changed my life.

I'm sorry, Millard Fillmore. I promise to never forget you ever again.
1. Almost certainly something than we write with an accent over it, though I'm drawing a blank as to which one. Maybe ^ch?
2. Ok, well. I know about the Yankees. It's probably the Yankees.
3. Robert Johnson, Jimi Hendrix, Kurt Cobain
4. 3
5. Hrm...famous dogs. Pretty sure Lassie and Old Yeller are fictional, so maybe Rin Tin Tin was real?
6. I was sure that it was Zinc, but it seems that something in the last 15 years I'd forgotten the ScTiVi part of my Mnemonic. Cobalt. If copper had been one of the options I would have been conflicted.
7. That's a lot of symphonies you got there, Mr. Mozart. Shame if something were to...happen...to them.
8. Ooh...maybe Chopin? C'mon man, stick to Mozart.
9. Protestant/Buddhist/Catholic? Really? South Korea?
10. Cameroon

I don't know if it's an interesting observation or not. But 27 is a number that represents the number of years that I have currently lived on this earth, so it's just as well that I'm not a prominent blues musician, I'm thinking.
