The Infinite Art Tournament, Round 3 Semi-Tiebreak: Michelangelo v. Velázquez!

As the tournament enters its later stages, if it appears that there will be an unresolved tie in a particular round, the final match of that round will not be held, but will be treated as if it were a tie, and its artists played against the artists from the unresolved tie...
The Unresolved Tie Rule was used for the first time on Saturday to bring us the unexpected match of Metsu v. Zorn.  And may the best painter win!  Today, we continue the madness with a match that might have been... well, I shan't editorialize.  We continue the madness with Michelangelo v. Valázquez!

This is tougher than I thought it would be. But that statue pushed me over the edge. Michelangelo.

Michelangelo and then some.

Yeah, if this was a painter v. painter contest, I might champion Velázquez. But it's a sculptor/architect/painter v. painter, and Michelangelo deserves to carry the day without breaking into a sweat.

Susan goes with Velázquez.

Michelangelo, for his diversity, though Velasquez is pretty rad.

Man alive, Third Round is way to early for this. I guess I'll go with Michael.

Rebecca hates herself for going with Michaelangelo on FB.

Michelangelo, without much need for deliberation.

And the Third Round closes with Michelangelo breaking away from Velázquez and taking the match, eight votes to three. He'll take on Lord Leighton in Round Four!
