The Semi-Finals: Rembrandt v. Sargent!




"Semifinals" designates the Fourth to Seventh Rounds of the Infinite Art Tournament.  This is a Fifth Round Match.  It pits Rembrandt (4-0, 29-15, .659) against John Singer Sargent (4-0, 43-2, .956). They lambasted Rosa and H. Rousseau, respectively, by a combined total of 20 votes to 3.

I had a poster of one of these guys on my wall in high school (after I got through the Duran Duran phase, in any event). But I'm voting for the other one. Sargent.

Sargent takes this big-name match by ten votes against seven, and will progress to an all-American match against Charles Sheeler. Rembrandt will head over to the Left Bracket and... wait. It will take a while for the Tournament to catch up with him over there.
