Your Thursday Boring Postcard from Michael5000

CASHMERE, WASHINGTON

Located in the heart of apple country, Cashmere is the home of the world famous Aplets & Cotlets Candy Factory and the "Pioneer Village," a restoration of the typical old Western community at Chelan County Museum.

Cashmere is located between Leavenworth and Wenatchee and has a unique colonial look.

Provenance: Gift of Mrs.5000, Christmas 2010.

I think I might have been there, but a little later than that photo was taken.

I have been just staring at this, mesmerized, because...my god...I have never seen a main street revitalization effort look quite so...odd...Colonial by way of gas stations and motel parking lots as described to a blind engineer... oh those lampposts sticking up out of the roofs, and that cupola hovering over the street like an ghostly old A&P vanishing from the bottom up...shocking...now I want to go there! apparently there's a water park...and it's at the geographical center of Washington State...

Don't worry about her, darling. And whatever you do, DON'T LOOK IN THAT ROOM UPSTAIRS. You know the rules.

The place also has excellent Mexican food, or did the last time I was there.

I found it strictly two-ply.
