Lowry. I don't think I ever voted for that Dutch guy's tiny people, but I kind of like these.

I like Lowry, but he strikes me as sort of a one-trick pony. I'll vote for van Leyden this time.

Ooh. I sometimes find it hard to privilege personal vision over mastery, but scrolling down Lowry's crude cityscapes made my heart leap in a way that van Leyden's art did not. Plus, in digging around a bit, I find he also did lovely, featureless paintings of the sea--like little Rothkos with waves. My vote goes to the Grandma Moses of the gritty end of Lancashire!

Leyden, although I'm skeptical of his "1494-1533" American claim.

I'm surprising myself with a vote for Lowry.

Lowry takes this one easily, 11 votes to 3. If the brackets hadn't shuffled, he'd move on against Lotto, but things being as they are his next opponent will be Andy Goldsworthy. Could be a tough match!

Thanks for your votes, art mavens.
